About this event
Contact Miles at (603) 525-3394 or by email to join the waitlist. Join Harris Center bird conservation director Phil Brown and avid hiker David West for an exploration of the Forest Society’s Heald Tract in Wilton. Our 1.5-mile route over mostly gentle terrain will traverse an area with beaver ponds, a fascinating stone foundation site, and a trail camera set up near an active wildlife corridor. Along the way, we’ll search for signs of wildlife before looping through a recently harvested forest to see how both plants and wildlife are responding to the changing landscape. 10 a.m. to noon at the Heald Tract in Wilton. Exact meeting location will be provided prior to the event. Space is limited, and registration is full. To join the waitlist, contact Miles Stahmann. For general information about Harris Center field trips, see our Outings Information page. For more information about this particular outing, including questions about accessibility, contact Phil. Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Society for Protection of New Hampshire Forests.
