About this event
An historic mid-term election has happened and the people have spoken. After a decade of political division, where do we hope to go from here? What do we need to do to keep our republic? These big questions are the starting point for a special post-election Community Conversation at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture on Thursday, November 5. The Founding Fathers recognized that self-government is a fragile thing that must be nurtured and passed down from one generation to the next. Have we allowed our republic to break? What do we need to keep the republic for a new generation? Retired U.S. history teacher Robert Marshall will open conversation with a historical framework and moderate the evening’s discussion. Community Conversations begin at 7 p.m. in Bass Hall at the Monadnock Center. The program is free and all are welcome. Community Conversations are produced by the Monadnock Center in collaboration with the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript . Accessibility This program is held in Bass Hall at the Monadnock Center. Ramp access is available at the rear of the building and the door opens directly into the hall. The center’s restrooms are fully-accessible and located adjacent to the hall. Community Conversations speakers and guests use a microphone to amplify the conversation.
