PLEASE NOTE: There is no contra dance on Monday, Sept. 7th or Monday Nov. 2nd The Monadnock Folklore Society sponsors a public contra dance every Monday night from 7:30 PM until 9:30 PM in the Nelson, NH, Town Hall. Admission is $5. Contra dance is a traditional New England folk dance. It’s a way to get together, meet people, and enjoy moving to live music played primarily on fiddle and piano. All dances are taught and beginners are always welcome. The Nelson dance has been held every Monday for the past 45 years. The dance is well known for its community spirit and excellent volunteer performers.
