Join us for an incredible opportunity for wood turners! Master turner Doug Finkel is back for this exciting program. MAXT has been lucky enough to acquire some very large slabs of white oak to turn with from a local saw mill. We will be really pushing the limits with this class to create a piece that is the absolute largest it's possible to create with our Rikon teaching lathes. A piece this large will require some skill to turn, this is an intermediate level class recommended to turners with experience producing multiple pieces at MAXT or at home workshop. Doug will take you through the whole process of breaking down the slab into a turnable blank, roughing out bowls on a large scale and then letting them completely dry before returning a month later for final turning and finishing to a fine quality. 3 sessions: 11/5 6-9p , 11/12 6-9p, 12/17 6-9p
